Preparing for Exams

Here are past exams as well as answers. My general practice is to provide the top student answers, without any corrections. Thus, student answers (even the top ones) may contain numerous irrelevant paragraphs and errors.

To avoid self-replication of student error, I provided a memorandum analysis in Fall 1999 (scroll down to answers).

Reviewing your Exam

First, if you did well, congratulations. If you did not, keep your chin up. Civil procedure is difficult, and you are at the beginning stages of your legal training. Your goal should be to diagnose what went wrong and strive to improve each semester.  No matter what, maintain an upward trajectory.  (By the way, I do not generally resolve grades, so unless you tell me, I probably don’t know what you received.)

Second, note that this class was graded in accordance with the curve. The curve generally has the effect of bumping up people’s grades.
