Chapter 7: Global Redress

The successful Japanese American redress movement has both informed and catalyzed redress claims across the globe. After introducing some background to redress theory and practice, this chapter discusses the redress cases of  Japanese Latin Americans, African Americans, Native Hawaiians, and “sex slaves.”

Chapter 8: Epilogue: Watchful Care over the Loaded Weapon

This final chapter focuses on contemporary legal issues illuminated by the Japanese American internment and redress experience.  Examples include the government’s treatment of Dr. Wen Ho Lee and the “War on Terror.”
